Zoom H6 Studio Recorder

Zoom H6 Studio Recorder

Studio-Grade Sound. Anywhere You Record.

The Zoom H6 studio is the most advanced Handy Recorder Zoom has ever built. Combining large-diaphragm XY microphones, four ultraclean F-Series preamps, and 32-bit float recording, it delivers pristine audio whether you're capturing music, film sound, podcasts, or field recordings - in the studio or out in the world.

Preamps & Microphones That Don't Compromise

The F-Series preamps achieve an exceptional -127 dBu EIN, while dual A/D converters and 32-bit float recording deliver 132 dB of dynamic range - preserving every nuance without distortion. The 19.4mm X/Y capsules offer a flat, natural frequency response and handle up to 140 dB SPL, from delicate acoustic performances to the loudest environments. Their stacked 90° arrangement minimises phase cancellation for a clean, focused stereo image.

Toggle between 32-bit float for limitless headroom or 16-/24-bit for instantly shareable files. Dedicated gain knobs and a format switch make workflow changes fast and intuitive.

Eight Tracks. Maximum Flexibility.

Record up to eight tracks simultaneously - six individual inputs plus a stereo mix - at sampling rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz (8 tracks @ 96 kHz, 6 tracks @ 192 kHz). Four locking XLR/TRS inputs support +48V phantom power and +4 dBu line level, with an additional stereo mini jack for plug-in powered mics. RF shielding blocks smartphone and Wi-Fi interference, and shock-mounted capsules reduce handling noise. Lookahead limiters ensure clean, peak-free results across all recording modes.

Capsule System 3.0 adds support for a wide range of interchangeable microphone and input modules, including the WLM-1 dual-channel wireless system.

Monitoring, Playback & Built-In Tools

Real-time peak and waveform displays keep you across levels at a glance. Output options include a headphone jack, stereo line out, and onboard speaker for instant playback. The full built-in toolset includes:

  • Mono mode
  • Low-cut filter
  • File normalisation
  • Variable-speed playback
  • A-B repeat
  • Start tone for audio-to-video sync

Records directly to microSDHC/microSDXC cards up to 2 TB.

Power & Accessibility

Run up to 15 hours on four AA batteries, or power via USB or AC adapter for extended sessions. Audible menu navigation in multiple languages makes the H6studio accessible for visually impaired users.

USB Audio Interface & Timecode

Use the H6studio as a 6-in/2-out USB audio interface for Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android - supporting 32-bit float and 16/24-bit recording - while simultaneously backing up to microSD.

The optional TCA-1 timecode adapter generates, outputs, or jams to an external clock with 0.5 ppm accuracy. Receive wireless timecode from the ATOMOS UltraSync BLUE via the TCA-1 or BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter (both sold separately). The BTA-1 also enables remote control via the Zoom Handy Control & Sync app for iOS - manage start/stop, multiple recorders, and timecode sync from your phone.
