Designed for full-frame cameras, it can also be mounted on APS-C models, on which it provides a 160-640mm equivalent zoom range. With the utilisation of three Low Dispersion elements Tamron have managed to produce a lens that does not succumb to the common issues of aberrations and colour fringing, and is detailed and sharp throughout its focal range.
Tamron's eBand coating has been applied to the 100-400mm VC lens, resulting in excellent levels of contrast and colour, as well as suppressed flare and ghosting. Fluorine coating has been applied to the lens' front element, rendering it water and oil-repellent, while the lens barrel itself is dust and moisture-resistant, to allow confident shooting in outdoor conditions. Allowing you to shoot free and with your natural flair, the Tamron 100-400mm VC features the fast and quiet autofocus provided by the USD AF motor, and the shake-free characteristic which is available thanks to the VC stabiliser.
