Coming off the back of the hugely successful E-M5 and E-M1, Olympus unleashes this user-friendly retro-inspired shooter, the E-M10. If you are looking at entering the Olympus Micro Four Thirds family but are on a budget, the E-M10 may just be the camera for you, providing much of the usability of Olympus' other offerings, but making some adjustments to keep the costs a little lower. Image quality is still paramount, with a 16MP LiveMOS sensor bringing the goods, while 3-axis IS and 8 frames per second continuous shooting give you every opportunity to capture your pictures in their best light.
- 16MP MFT sensor
- 8FPS continuous shooting
- WiFi Connectivity
- Built-in 3-axis IS
- 3-inch tilting, touch LCD

Olympus has already impressed us with their E-M5 and E-M1 cameras and now they are back with this user-friendly, lightweight version, the E-M10. The E-M10 retains the same retro-inspired design of the other OM-D cameras, but in a lighter, less rugged shell. This lack of toughness results in you being able to enter this mirrorless system on a budget. The camera still looks like a small SLR of old, with an amazing level of hands-on usability for a camera that fits so comfortably in the end. Image quality is superb in all lighting conditions, thanks to the 16MP MFT sensor, while the 81-point AF system and 8 frames per second continuous shooting rate is capable of keeping up with subjects on the move.
At the rear of the camera is a large EVF, as well as a 3-inch tilting, touch-sensitive LCD screen which improves your ability to frame your pictures as well as navigate the menu swiftly. The built-in 3-axis IS is not as effective as what we have seen in the previous OM-D cameras but it is still capable of cutting down on camera shake significantly, which frees you up to shoot handheld more often than not. A major feature of the OM-D cameras which is still present in the E-M10 is the dual control wheels for making changes to exposure settings. It is for this reason that the E-M10 is suitable for both beginners and enthusiasts, with shooters given the opportunity to grow in terms of their manual shooting ability as they get to know their camera.
